Smithfields Country Club is seeking a professional, organized, and service-minded Service & Events Manager to help lead our dining, event, and member service operations.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in hospitality, enjoys leading a team, and can help create a polished, consistent, and welcoming experience for our members and guests. The Service & Events Manager will play a key role in daily dining service, private events, club events, Green Room service, weddings, banquets, member functions, and overall clubhouse hospitality.
We are looking for someone who is not afraid to lead from the front. This is a hands-on management role that requires organization, accountability, professionalism, and the ability to jump in wherever needed to ensure the operation runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support daily food and beverage service operations.
- Manage and execute club events, private parties, banquets, weddings, member events, and special dining experiences.
- Coordinate event details, room setup, staffing, timelines, service flow, menus, and guest expectations.
- Train, schedule, supervise, and hold accountable servers, bartenders, and event staff.
- Maintain high service standards for members, guests, and private event clients.
- Ensure the clubhouse, dining areas, bar areas, event spaces, and service stations are clean, organized, and properly prepared.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure food timing, presentation, and service quality.
- Communicate professionally with members, guests, vendors, staff, and management.
- Help create a strong service culture built on professionalism, hospitality, teamwork, and attention to detail.
- Assist with inventory controls, ordering, event planning, labor management, and operational checklists.
- Ensure all events are properly staffed, prepared, executed, and followed up on.
- Step into service as needed, including serving, bartending, hosting, setting up events, breaking down events, and supporting the team during busy periods.
The ideal candidate is polished, reliable, positive, and highly organized. They should be comfortable managing people, communicating with members, solving problems quickly, and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
This person should understand that great service is not just about taking orders or running events. It is about creating a consistent experience where members and guests feel welcomed, cared for, and confident that every detail is being handled.
Qualifications
- Prior restaurant, banquet, event, private club, hotel, or hospitality management experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage staff, schedules, events, service standards, and member expectations.
- Comfortable working nights, weekends, holidays, club events, and private events as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized under pressure.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work hands-on with the team when needed.
- Experience with POS systems, event planning, private dining, or catering is a plus.
- Must be dependable, proactive, and accountable.
This position will require availability during peak club service times, including evenings, weekends, holidays, member events, private events, and special dining services. The schedule will vary based on club needs and the event calendar.
Compensation
Compensation will be competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit. Additional incentive opportunities may be available based on performance, event execution, service standards, and department goals.
