Overview

The Outside Professional staff member will play a key role in delivering an exceptional member experience at Old Barnwell. This individual will oversee the daily operations of the outside services team, ensuring a seamless experience from the moment members and guests arrive through the completion of their round.

Responsibilities will include managing the arrival experience, coordinating course coolers, overseeing golf cart logistics, providing outstanding customer service, and maintaining the high standards of hospitality that define Old Barnwell.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, an effective communicator, a strong team leader, and passionate about creating memorable experiences for our members and guests. This role requires someone who takes pride in service, understands the importance of attention to detail, and is committed to delivering a world-class golf experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Outside Responsibilities:
• Manage the arrival and post round experience.
• Ensure that coolers on the golf course are fully stocked with beverages and ice before each day of play.
• Monitor cooler inventory throughout the day and maintain adequate supplies to meet the needs of golfers throughout the day.
• Regularly inspect coolers for cleanliness, organization, and functionality.
• Manage push cart fleet. Organizing and prepping for member and guest use.
• Help out in other departments if needed
• Driving Range
• Set the Driving Range
• Pick the Driving range/clean golf balls
• Clean up and take down the range area
• Customer Service:
• Provide friendly, helpful, and efficient service to all golfers on the course, including greeting them and offering assistance as needed.
• Handle any customer concerns or complaints with professionalism and a positive attitude.

• Team Coordination:
• Work well with a staff of 5 - 7 employees.
• Ensure all team members are performing tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist in scheduling and assigning duties to team members, ensuring all shifts are covered and services are available throughout the day.
• Provide training and guidance to new staff on service expectations and safety protocols.
• Maintain communication with the golf shop to ensure proper coordination of tee times and other operational needs.

Experience Required

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a customer service or outdoor services role, preferably within a golf course
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a variety of customers in a positive and professional manner.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• A passion for golf and outdoor environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds (cooler supplies, equipment, etc.) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods during a typical workday.
