Overview

The merchandiser is responsible for curating the apparel and accessory assortment, maintaining attractive displays, and keeping inventory accurate and productive. In a private club setting, the role is highly member-focused and works closely with the Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf to match purchasing decisions to the club's culture, demographics, and sales goals.

Experience Required

• Retail, merchandising, or inventory management experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable lifting and moving boxes of merchandise (up to 30 lbs)
• Basic computer proficiency; point-of-sale or inventory software experience is a plus
• Ability to stand and move throughout the shop for extended periods
• Interest in golf, apparel, or luxury retail preferred

Essential Responsibilities

  Select and buy golf shop merchandise, including apparel, headwear, footwear, accessories, and often select hard goods.

  Manage inventory levels, reorder product as needed, and conduct physical inventories or audits on a regular schedule.

  Create clean, appealing visual displays and refresh the sales floor frequently to keep the shop looking current.

  Process special orders, returns, defective items, and vendor follow-up.

  Support daily golf shop operations such as member service, sales transactions, phone answering, tee sheet support, and tournament assistance as needed.
