Description
OverviewThe Marshall provides exceptional professionalism and customer service to members and guests on the course. This role enforces club rules related to golf etiquette and play with a balance of courtesy and authority, while proactively ensuring a smooth pace of play and fostering a positive overall experience for all players.
Reports to the Head Golf Professional.
Experience Required
- Prior experience in a similar role or extensive knowledge of golf preferred.
- Ability to walk long distances and carry heavy bags for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff.
- Excellent knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and best practices.
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing outstanding service.
- High attention to detail and reliability.
- Ability to work outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, squat, kneel, reach, grasp, push, pull, twist, bend, lift, carry up to 100 lbs., talk, hear, and see.
- Availability to work weekends and/or holidays as required, with flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist members and guests by offering advice on golf course etiquette, assisting with lost balls, and providing rides upon request.
- Inform members and guests about club offerings, features, events, and golf shop specials.
- Maintain presence on the course as scheduled and coordinate with starters or other golf operations staff to report incidents or issues.
- Consistently enforce club rules related to the golf course and smooth pace of play.
- Address rule violations professionally while maintaining a courteous demeanor.
- Repair ball marks, fill divots with topsoil, pick up loose items on the course, and straighten cart guidance ropes and supports.
- Collaborate with outside services, range attendants, and cart attendants to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Complete daily duties in assigned areas to club standards, including keeping the course free of trash, restocking supplies, and maintaining tidy signage.
- Assist others as needed and take on additional tasks assigned by management.
- Follow company, club, and department policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- Maintain professionalism and commitment to excellence in all interactions.
- Attend daily briefings and engage in required activities to support team success.
