Golf Course Superintendent - Kirksville Country Club

Kirksville Country Club, located in northeast Missouri, is seeking a qualified Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and agronomy operations of our 18-hole facility. The Superintendent reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for all aspects of a successful golf course grounds operation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and execute daily and seasonal maintenance programs to ensure consistent, high-quality playing conditions.
• Control turfgrass health including mowing, aeration, fertilization, irrigation, pest, disease and weed control.
• Apply and document all chemical applications in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Manage irrigation scheduling, water usage, system operation, troubleshooting and repair to maintain healthy turf and an efficient irrigation system.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure all equipment is safe and fully operational.
• Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets for maintenance programs, equipment needs, and financial success.
• Collaborate with vendors to purchase and manage equipment, supplies, and materials.
• Maintain the grounds and landscaped areas surrounding the clubhouse and pool to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members and guests.
• Develop and implement long-range plans for golf course and facility improvements, including infrastructure upgrades, agronomic enhancements, and capital project recommendations.
• Hire, train, supervise, and motivate maintenance staff to uphold high standards of turf care, safety, and professionalism.
• Communicate regularly with the General Manager, Board of Directors, and club members regarding course conditions, projects, and operational updates.

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and employee management skills.
• Current pesticide application license or ability to obtain.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems including repair, maintenance, improvement, and installation.
• Computer skills to support financial reporting and operational management.
