Description
OverviewCountry Hills Golf Club, a municipally owned golf facility in Hendersonville, Tennessee, is seeking an energetic, customer-focused, and highly motivated professional to serve as its next Head Golf Professional / Clubhouse Manager.
This is an opportunity for an experienced golf operations professional who enjoys a hands-on role overseeing all aspects of clubhouse and golf operations. This position has become available due to the upcoming retirement of the current Head Golf Professional, who has provided many years of service to Country Hills Golf Club.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build upon a strong operational foundation while helping guide the facility into its next chapter of success.
The Head Golf Professional / Clubhouse Manager will serve as the primary on-site leader for all customer-facing operations and work closely with Golf Management Group, the management company that operates Country Hills Golf Club on behalf of the
City of Hendersonville.
This position reports directly to Golf Management Group.

Country Hills Golf Club is a well-established municipal golf facility serving golfers throughout Hendersonville and the greater Sumner County area. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, excellent value, and community-focused environment, the golf course provides an enjoyable experience for players of all ages and skill levels.
The facility features an active daily-fee golf operation, leagues, tournaments, outings, a fully stocked golf shop, and a snack-bar-style food-and-beverage operation. Country Hills Golf Club is committed to delivering exceptional customer service while providing an affordable and enjoyable golf experience.
Experience Required
Required
- PGA Class A Member, required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Head Golf Professional with responsibility for golf operations, staff management, customer service, merchandising, and financial performance.
- Demonstrated success leading golf operations in a public, municipal, daily-fee, resort, or private club environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing staff.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, inventory, and operational performance.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as required by golf operations.
- Proficiency with golf management software, point-of-sale systems, and standard business applications.
Preferred
- Experience managing municipal or daily-fee golf facilities.
- Food and beverage management experience, particularly in a snack bar, grille, or quick-service environment.
- Tournament, outing, and league management experience.
- Retail merchandising and inventory management experience.
- Experience working with management companies, boards, or municipal stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities
Golf Operations Management
- Direct and oversee all daily golf operations.
- Manage tee sheet utilization and maximize rounds and revenue opportunities.
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained throughout the facility.
- Monitor the pace of play and golfer satisfaction.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Implement programs and initiatives designed to increase participation, customer retention, and revenue.
- Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the operation.
Clubhouse Leadership
- Oversee all clubhouse operations and customer-facing services.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming clubhouse environment.
- Establish and maintain operating procedures and service standards.
- Supervise clubhouse personnel and coordinate staffing schedules.
- Promote a culture focused on hospitality, professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
Golf Shop Management
- Manage all golf shop operations, including retail sales, inventory control, purchasing, merchandising, and customer service.
- Develop merchandising plans designed to maximize sales and profitability.
- Maintain attractive and effective merchandise displays.
- Manage vendor relationships and product ordering.
Food & Beverage Operations
The Head Golf Professional/Clubhouse Manager will oversee the facility's snack-barstyle food-and-beverage operation.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing all daily food and beverage activities.
- Ordering food, beverages, and operating supplies.
- Maintaining inventory controls and cost-management practices.
- Ensuring compliance with all health, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Training and supervising food and beverage staff.
- Developing promotions and offerings that enhance customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Monitoring financial performance and identifying opportunities for revenue growth.
Tournament, League & Event Management
- Organize and oversee tournaments, outings, leagues, and special events.
- Serve as the primary liaison for tournament organizers and event participants.
- Coordinate registrations, pairings, scoring, and event logistics.
- Develop strategies to grow the tournament and outing business.
- Enhance player engagement through leagues and special programming.
Staff Leadership
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate clubhouse, golf shop, and food-andbeverage staff.
- Create work schedules and manage labor resources effectively.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability standards.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Provide coaching, leadership, and ongoing staff development.
Financial & Business Management
- Assist Golf Management Group in achieving operational and financial objectives.
- Monitor revenues, expenses, labor costs, and inventory controls.
- Prepare operational reports and recommendations as requested.
- Identify opportunities to increase rounds, retail sales, food-and-beverage revenue, and overall profitability.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Serve as an ambassador for Country Hills Golf Club within the community.
- Support marketing initiatives, promotions, and customer retention efforts.
- Build relationships with golfers, leagues, local businesses, and community organizations.
- Assist with social media, customer communications, and promotional campaigns.
- Help grow participation and strengthen the facility's reputation throughout the region.
