OverviewAbout Woodhaven Country Club
Woodhaven Country Club is a welcoming, semi-private 18-hole golf and tennis community located in the heart of Palm Desert, just minutes from Palm Springs. Open to members, residents, and the public, with beautifully maintained fairways, scenic lakes and water features, and views of the surrounding mountains, We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented Head Golf Professional to lead our golf operation and help us continue delivering an exceptional experience to our members and guests.

Qualifications
- PGA membership or certification is preferred.
- Candidates actively pursuing PGA membership through the PGA Associate or Professional Golf Management program are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in a Head Golf Professional, Assistant Golf Professional, Golf Operations Manager, or comparable leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience supervising, scheduling, training, and developing employees.
- Strong understanding of golf operations, tournament administration, tee-sheet management, pace of play, merchandising, and customer service.
- Experience preparing or managing departmental budgets, expenses, inventory, and revenue goals.
- Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with members, residents, public golfers, employees, and club leadership.
- Proficiency with golf management, tee-sheet, point-of-sale, tournament, and Microsoft Office software.
- Experience with ForeUp, Chronogolf, or similar golf-management systems is preferred.
- Availability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, tournaments, and special events as required by club operations.
Essential Responsibilities
Position Overview
The Head Golf Professional is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day management of all golf operations at Woodhaven Country Club. This hands-on leadership position oversees golf shop and outside services staff, daily play, tournaments, merchandising, player development, financial performance, and the overall member and guest experience.
The successful candidate will be a visible and engaged leader who builds strong relationships, communicates effectively, develops employees, and creates an organized, professional, and service-focused golf operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage golf shop and outside services personnel.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate golf operations staff.
- Establish clear performance expectations and maintain consistent service and operational standards.
- Oversee daily golf operations, including the tee sheet, pace of play, starting procedures, course activity, and member and guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate and manage club tournaments, leagues, outings, and special golf events.
- Communicate tournament and event requirements effectively with Food and Beverage, Golf Course Maintenance, Accounting, and other departments.
- Maintain an active, professional, and welcoming presence in the golf shop and throughout the club.
- Provide golf instruction, clinics, and player-development opportunities for members and guests.
- Manage the golf shop retail operation, including purchasing, inventory control, product selection, displays, and merchandising.
- Monitor golf-related revenue, expenses, staffing levels, and operational performance.
- Assist with preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Identify opportunities to increase golf participation, membership value, retail sales, lesson revenue, tournament activity, and public play.
- Respond to member and guest questions or concerns promptly, professionally, and respectfully.
- Develop strong relationships with members, residents, guests, employees, vendors, and the surrounding golf community.
- Promote a positive workplace culture centered on teamwork, accountability, communication, and exceptional service.
- Maintain compliance with club policies, safety practices, employment requirements, and applicable golf-industry standards.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

As a full-time employee, you will be eligible to participate in the Club's benefit programs, which currently include medical, dental, 401(k), vacation time, and sick time. Additional details, including eligibility requirements, will be provided separately.
Woodhaven Country Club will provide a uniform allowance each calendar year for approved apparel consistent with Club standards.
The Club will also provide a mobile phone for business use.
In addition, the Club will pay your standard PGA membership dues (base professional dues at the standard level) directly or reimburse you upon proof of payment, in accordance with Club policy. All allowances and payments are subject to the Club's approval processes and may be prorated based on your start date.
