Description
OverviewThe Head Golf Professional reports to the Director of Golf and is responsible for delivering an exceptional member golf experience. The role serves as the face of the golf operation, engages with members daily, and helps elevate the overall golf experience at the club. The ideal candidate is highly visible, member-focused, possesses strong leadership and operational skills, and is committed to fostering a welcoming and first-class golf environment.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Class A Member of PGA/LPGA.
- Ability to read and speak English is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
- Regularly stands, walks, and sits.
- Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
- Frequently uses hands; reaches with hands and arms.
- Frequently talks or hears; tastes or smells.
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee golf operations including tournaments, rules, tee sheet management, merchandise inventory, range and player service operations, cart fleet, golf programming, and instruction.
- Assist in the development and day-to-day tracking of the budget and business plan.
- Help control expenses in relation to revenues.
- Create a customer service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of the members.
- Ensure associates provide a high level of customer service.
- Prepare work schedules and assign associates areas of responsibility.
- Manage data capture and data collection of golfing guests and potential customers utilizing club-defined processes.
- Provide leadership and vision to golf staff, building people, and preparing them for career advancement.
- Provide golf instruction through lessons and clinics to members and guests, as needed.
- Implement and maintain excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as required.
