Overview

The Head Golf Professional is responsible for promoting the game of golf and creating an exceptional experience for members and guests at the club. This role delivers outstanding customer service, oversees golf shop operations, and manages golf-related activities. The Head Golf Professional collaborates with the management team to drive revenue growth through innovative programming, member engagement initiatives, and high-quality instruction. This position requires a deep passion for golf, strong leadership skills, and the ability to foster a positive environment that encourages participation, enjoyment, and a sense of community among members and guests.

Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in golf operations and customer service.
• PGA or LPGA Professional Certification is mandatory.
• College degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience with direct financial management and budget responsibilities preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential company information and sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism preferred.
• Commitment to upholding high ethical work standards preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver efficient and friendly customer service across all areas of the pro shop.
• Provide high-quality golf instruction to members and guests in accordance with Invited and PGA/LPGA standards.
• Develop and promote golf clinics, private lessons, and programs for adults, juniors, and seniors.
• Promote the game of golf and the club through professionalism, service, and engagement.
• Build strong relationships with members through committees, clinics, personalized lessons, and playing rounds.
• Create and manage an annual golf calendar of activities and events.
• Establish and achieve sales and instruction goals while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Develop, implement, and oversee golf revenue strategies, marketing initiatives, and net revenue plans.
• Supervise outside golf operations including marshals, starters, and golf shop attendants.
• Lead golf shop operations by training, motivating, and conducting regular staff meetings.
• Manage golf operations staff, including recruiting, hiring, performance evaluations, and development.
• Build a service excellence team focused on value, member satisfaction, and retention.
• Plan, promote, and execute tournaments and special golf events in coordination with other operations areas.
• Oversee event promotion, scheduling, execution, and post-event wrap-up.
• Ensure staff are properly trained and follow club guidelines and procedures, particularly regarding closing business functions.
