Overview

Oversee and maintain all facets of the golf operation. Provide professional support, direction, management, training and leadership to golf staff associates. Promote and nurture customer relations and enhance the quality of the golf experience. Responsible for the day-to-day golf operations.

Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Class A member of PGA/LPGA.
• Ability to read and speak English is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
• Regularly stands, walks and sits.
• Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
• Frequently uses hands; reaches with hands and arms.
• Frequently talks or hears; tastes or smells.
• Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Essential Responsibilities

• Oversee golf operations including tournaments, rules, tee sheet management, merchandise inventory, range and player service operations, cart fleet, golf programming and instruction.
• Assist in the development and day-to-day tracking of the budget and business plan and help control expenses in relation to revenues.
• Create a customer service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of members while ensuring associates provide a high level of customer service.
• Work closely with the Superintendent and the Food and Beverage Manager to ensure timely communication and establish a good working relationship.
• Prepare work schedules and assign associates areas of responsibility.
• Manage data capture and data collection of golfing guests and potential customers utilizing club-defined processes.
• Perform payroll tasks, make adjustments prior to submission, and monitor hours to maximize productivity and minimize overtime.
• Provide leadership and vision to golf staff and prepare them for career advancement.
• Provide golf instruction through lessons and clinics to members and guests.
• Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, direct work, evaluate performance, reward and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Manage department members including Assistant and Associate Golf Professionals, Teaching Professionals, Tournament Coordinator, and Guest Services Attendants.
• Ensure effective orientation and training for each new associate and develop ongoing training programs.
• Monitor business volume forecasts and plan accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
• Implement and maintain excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as required.
