Eshquaguma Country Club is dedicated to providing exceptional playing conditions and is seeking a turf professional who takes pride in delivering championship-level golf surfaces.ECC is a distinguished private 9-hole facility located in Gilbert, Minnesota, and is seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead all aspects of the golf course maintenance operations and uphold the club's commitment to exceptional playing conditions.
As the primary on-site leader for the golf course and grounds, the Superintendent will oversee all maintenance operations, lead and develop the maintenance team, and drive the club's commitment to exceptional course conditions and presentation. The position reports to the Golf Course Liaison, who will remain actively involved on-site to provide mentorship, strategic oversight, and support in achieving the club's long-term agronomic and operational goals.
This role offers significant operational autonomy, empowering the Superintendent to make day-to-day decisions that directly influence course conditions, team performance, and overall operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all daily golf course maintenance operations for the club's private 9-hole facility.
- Develop and execute comprehensive agronomic programs, including fertility management, pesticide applications, irrigation scheduling, and cultural practices.
- Direct daily crew assignments, course setup, and special project work to ensure efficient operations and exceptional course presentation.
- Monitor turf health, course conditions, and playability to consistently deliver outstanding playing surfaces.
- Manage fertilizer and plant protectant programs in accordance with established agronomic plans
- Assist with budgeting, inventory management, and equipment coordination to support efficient golf course operations.
- Maintain accurate records of chemical applications, irrigation practices, and agronomic activities.
- Promote and culture of safety through proper staff training, equipment operation, and adherence to workplace safety standards.
- Partner with the Greens Board Liaison on course enhancement projects and long-term agronomic planning, utilizing on-site guidance and support to achieve club objectives.
- Oversee capital improvement projects related to golf course infrastructure, irrigation, and course enhancements.
Desired Qualifications
- Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field
- Five or more years of golf course maintenance experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Golf Course Superintendent preferred.
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass management practices, irrigation systems, and golf course maintenance equipment.
- Possession of Minnesota pesticide applicator license, or the ability to obtain one.

- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to consistently delivering superior playing conditions.
- Proven leadership, communication, team-building, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays typical of the golf industry.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to assess priorities, adapt to challenging conditions, and effectively manage multiple responsibilities.
