Description
OverviewThe Golf Coach will be involved in all golf instruction at The Park, on both a group and individual basis.
The Golf Coach will have an endearing and engaging presence to foster a culture at The Park that welcomes everyone regardless of their social status or playing ability and creates a fun environment for staff and customers alike.
As an extension of The Park's reputation in the community and the golf industry, the ideal candidate must be Fun, Inclusive, Authentic, and Driven, in order to comprehend the "Why" and mission of The Park and its Founders.
The Studio: The Studio is a truly unique space, designed to practice the game of golf in a very similar manner to how it is played. It houses all of the latest game improvement technologies, but the star of the show is the custom built 450 yard practice facility. Blending performance coaching with common sense practicality, every athlete will be able to improve and work on extremely specific parts of their game.
Experience Required
- College graduate preferred
- PGA Member preferred; Level 2 or higher Associate will be considered with experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Golf Coach.
- Strong knowledge of either Trackman, GC Quad, or both.
- Level 1 TPI Certification preferred
- Club fitting ability strongly preferred.
Personal Characteristics and Skills
- Knowledge of The Park's story and mission.
- Diagnostic skills to determine student's need to most efficiently improve.
- Must be passionate about the profession, enjoy spending time at The Park and having fun.
- Maintains a professional image within The Park and the South Florida PGA Section.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must understand the seasonality of the South Florida market.
- Basic computer skills, internet, email, etc.
Essential Responsibilities
- Teach group and private lessons for all ages. This position is anticipated to be 50-60% group instruction, including but not limited to, Junior Clinics, PGA Jr League, adult player development programs, and golf schools.
- Conduct brand-agnostic club fittings that put the golfer first.
- Be comfortable working with all backgrounds and abilities.
- Maintain schedule as required by the Director of Coaching.
- Other duties as required by the Director of Coaching.
Benefits
- The Golf Coach is a seasonal commissioned, exempt employee of The Park. This anticipated timeframe for this position is November 1 - April 30.
- Compensation will be paid at a 70/30 split of all of the Golf Coach's gross coaching revenues.
- The Park's seasonal employee package includes 401K with company match, playing privileges, and discounted meals while on duty.
