OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY
The Pro Shop Attendant is the first point of contact for members and guests at the golf club. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, managing retail operations, and supporting the overall golf experience. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and knowledgeable about golf, golf products and golf operations.
Essential Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Meets and greets all guests in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
- Communicates in a clear and professional manner that assists guests in playing the course.
- Administer point-of-sale transactions and maintain the day-to-day golf reservation systems by reserving tee times, check-in customers, and receiving payments.
- Ability to effectively open and close the Pro Shop
- Ensure pro shop is stocked of merchandise in a presentable way.
- Coordinates with Golf Cart Attendant to maintain a consistent level of cart availability and to ensure guests are following the rules.
- Maintains good personal hygiene, reports to work wearing a clean, neat uniform that follows uniform standards.
- Ability to explain golf products and services and other information about the Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club to all guests.
- Work with Golf Operations staff in setup and execution of tournaments and outings.
- Participates in required employee orientation and safety trainings.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work harmoniously with patrons and fellow employees
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain records and files
- Working knowledge of the rules of golf
- Ability to learn and enforce course policies, rules and regulations
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Ability to pass a drug screen, as well as a background check.
- Adequate Computer and point-of-sale knowledge
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated individual wanting to learn and grow
- Service and customer focused attitude
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
Varies from Medium to Very Heavy Work:
- Lifting: Up to 50 lbs frequently. Up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Bending: Duration of several hours as needed
- Carrying: 50-100 lbs over a reasonable distance
- Climbing: Up to 10 feet as needed
- Sitting: 8 hours as needed on maintenance equipment
- Standing/Walking: 8 hours as needed for maintenance tasks
- Ability to work variable hours
- Ability to work long days in the weather including high heat, high humidity, cold temperatures, and rain
