Overview

Meadowcreek Golf Course in Charlottesville, Virginia is seeking a motivated General Manager to contribute to a positive experience for members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. The role is with Troon, a global leader in golf and community management.

Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Class A member of PGA/LPGA member.
• Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform job duties and communicate with customers or co-workers.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly stands, walks, and sits; regularly uses hands and arms; occasionally may climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, taste, or smell.
• Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor annual budget, revenue goals, and expenses, and generate business volume forecasts.
• Monitor financial reports and statements and take corrective action when necessary.
• Establish and monitor personnel policies, training, and professional development programs.
• Ensure all Human Resources procedures and policies are followed by management staff.
• Develop, maintain, and administer a sound organizational plan and initiate improvements as necessary.
• Maintain membership with the PGA and CMAA and attend workshops and meetings to stay current.
• Oversee the care and maintenance of the facility's physical assets.
• Coordinate marketing programs to promote the facility's services to potential customers.
• Ensure high standards for food and beverage service on the property.
• Implement policies and procedures for multiple departments, including compliance with company standards for products and services.
• Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, and direct work; evaluate performance; reward and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Directly manage department members, which may include Head Professional(s), Golf Course Superintendent(s), Tournament Coordinator, Director of Instruction, and others.
• Ensure effective orientation and training are given to each new associate and develop ongoing training programs.
