Description
OverviewThe General Manager directs and oversees all aspects of club operations including activities and relationships between members, guests, associates, and community. The role is responsible for delivering a high-quality member experience and Troon hospitality culture. Ideal candidates have a genuine passion for property management and leadership and will direct and administer all aspects of the operation, including coordination and administration of the property's policies and procedures. The position requires schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The General Manager will serve as an ambassador to the Esplanade culture, supporting meaningful connections, resort-style amenities, and curated programs focused on mind, body, and spirit.
Experience Required
- Must have a minimum of 5 years' related experience as General Manager at a club.
- A four-year college degree is preferred but not required.
- PGA Member preferred, not required.
- CMAA Member preferred, not required.
- HOA experience is a plus.
- Strategic leadership, culture development, and team building.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail.
- Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess the ability to coordinate projects and delegate responsibility.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Previous supervisory experience is required.
- Flexible schedule with availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and monitor annual budget, revenue goals, expenses, and business volume forecasts while managing the budget and yearly loss/breakeven point outlined by the board.
- Monitor financial reports and statements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and take corrective action when necessary.
- Establish and monitor personnel policies, training, and professional development programs.
- Partner with the Golf Course Superintendent and coordinate golf operations and agronomy needs.
- Oversee the food and beverage, lifestyle, and wellness departments.
- Manage HOA/Board and developer relationships.
- Continue initiatives for community growth, amenity expansions, and opening new facilities.
- Ensure all Human Resources procedures and policies are followed by management staff.
- Develop, maintain, and administer a sound organizational plan, including capital planning and asset management.
- Attend workshops and meetings to stay current on information and developments.
- Oversee the care and maintenance of all physical assets and each individual facility.
- Coordinate marketing programs to promote the facility's services to potential customers.
- Ensure the highest standards for food and beverage service on property.
- Implement policies and procedures for multiple departments, including compliance with company standards related to quality of products and services.
- Interview, hire, train, assign, direct work, evaluate performance, reward, and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Directly manage department members.
- Ensure each new associate receives effective orientation and training.
- Develop and implement ongoing training programs.
