Overview

Hidden Hills Golf Club in Jacksonville, Florida is looking to fill the position of Head Superintendent for the Golf Course Maintenance department. Hidden Hills was established in 1966 and has hosted several PGA TOUR events. The club is nestled in an upscale community in Arlington and Fort Caroline. The club is open to the public and boasts an Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course that traverses some of the most striking and unique topography in Florida. The club has a sports grill located upstairs and hosts banquets weddings and private parties.

Applicant must be a motivated and hard-working individual who enjoys working outside and directing and mentoring a team to provide excellent golf course conditions for our customers.  Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Head Golf Course Superintendent required.

Experience Required

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Head Golf Course Superintendent required.

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintenance of golf course, practice facilities and clubhouse surrounds to ensure a top-level experience for our customers. Duties also include application of fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides, equipment repair, purchasing, budgeting, irrigation repair, seasonal agronomic maintenance procedures and supervision of staff
• This is a salaried position and the Superintendent and will be expected to work some weekends and holidays
• Strong budgetary skills required
• Turf grass degree and membership with GCSAA preferred
• Chemical application license required
• Must be a problem solver and be willing and available to address impromptu events that arise such as irrigation issues, equipment failure, staffing issues or other maintenance problems
• Knowledge of and/or playing the game of golf is important and encouraged
• Must learn the intricacies of the unique microclimate that exists here at Hidden Hills and the necessary maintenance procedures that will maintain and elevate the condition of the golf course
• Superintendent must monitor reclaimed water usage and be versed in record keeping and ensure system is adequate to properly irrigate the golf course, clubhouse area and surrounding grounds
