Overview

The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch seek a progressive and innovative agronomic leader to attract and lead a motivated grounds staff.  He/She should take special pride in delivering exceptional playing conditions for members and guests by providing extraordinary turf conditioning, golf course grounds presentation, and customer service.  The Director of Agronomy will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the entire agronomy team at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch with a primary concentration on organizing, directing, and overseeing all facets of the department including, but not limited to staffing, training, safety protocol, chemical/fertilizer plans, working relationships across departments, interaction with club members, interaction with regional and national third-party consultants, and financial controls for the department.  The Director of Agronomy will have a critical eye for details while also being able to manage big picture priorities to produce consistent high quality results.  This position will report directly to the General Manager.

Experience Required

To be considered for the position, the following qualifications are desired: 

• GCSAA Class-A member with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Director of Agronomy or Golf Course Superintendent at a high-end private facility
• Bachelor's degree or 2-year Certificate in turfgrass related field or equivalent 
• Minimum of 5 years of golf course superintendent experience at a high-quality facility required
• Experience maintaining Pure Distinction bent grass or one of the new "super-bent" varieties in a transition zone climate 
• Dedication to profession driven by motivation to be the best
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Possess a critical eye for detail
• Strong financial background
• Spanish speaking skills preferred
• Ability to obtain Texas applicator's license within 3 months
• Prefer current bentgrass and zoysia experience in the south or Midwest
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Preferred Certified Golf Course Superintendent and required certified chemical and pesticide applicator
