Description
Wallkill Golf Club, located in Middletown, NY, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Part-Time Bartender! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.Role Type:
Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less)
Pay:
$16-$18 per hour
General Purpose
Makes and serves guests delicious beverages in accordance with established standards and with hospitality and professionalism. Creates memorable dining experiences through personalized and genuine interactions.
Essential Duties
- Stock bar, mix and serve alcoholic beverages, assist in cost control, inventory, and maintain inventory records
- Assist department leaders with creation of seasonal cocktails and development of menu
- Assist department leaders with social media schedule and creation of content
- Maintain inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products; communicate with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed
- Ensure compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management
- Communicate guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager
- Perform opening and closing duties including inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking
- Accountable for checks and cash transactions; utilize Point of Sale system
- Review banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events
- Serve catered parties from service or portable bars
- On occasion, serve meals to guests
- Incorporate safe work practices in job performance
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as required
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; and one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in restaurant point-of-sale systems (e.g. POSITOUCH and MICROS)
Physical Demands
Frequently stands, walks, talks, hears, and uses hands. Regularly reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes, smells, and sits. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Certificates & Licenses
ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent required.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and current trends in the industry and marketplace
- Knowledge of cocktail recipes
- Professional and courteous demeanor
- Strong commitment to company values
- Exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to Troon employees, clients, and vendors
- Fluent in English speaking, writing, and understanding
- Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
