ABOUT
Kinloch Golf Club is widely recognized as one of the most unique golf experiences in the country. Designed by Vinny Giles and Lester George, the club sits on 255 acres with many risk-reward opportunities but also is made for the everyday golfer as well. The Kinloch Experience is known for simply great golf paired with the best of southern hospitality. The course has earned multiple Golf Digest Top 100 rankings (currently #74 and #1 in Virginia) and has a Practice Facility and Training Center that is second to none. The club has three 8-bedroom cottages on property that are heavily used by our members for entertaining their guests. Kinloch has hosted two USGA Championships and is host to an annual elite Mid-Am and Senior Am competition, The Giles Invitational.

SUMMARYWe are seeking an Assistant Golf Professional to enhance the golf experience for the membership and their guests. This position is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day Golf Operation with a primary focus on providing exceptional service and hospitality to the membership. This position is designed to develop the skill set, responsibilities, and judgment of an Assistant Golf Professional towards that of a Lead Assistant Golf Professional. This person should ultimately have the desire to become a Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf. The Assistant Golf Professional position is a Salaried Full-Time position that will work approximately 40 hours a week.

HOURS/DAYSThe anticipated schedule is a 5-day work week with averaging 40 hours a week. The ability to work weekends are a necessity to this position. The Club is closed on Mondays except for Memorial Day and Labor Day and does not host any outside outings.

START DATEThe anticipated start date is September 8 th .

Experience Required

• Must be a team player and service oriented.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• PGA Member with at least two years of prior work experience at a Private Club preferred.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to always interact professionally with members and guests.

Essential Responsibilities

• Day-to-day operations of the Golf Shop which includes opening or closing. NorthStar point of sale experience is a plus.
• Delegating duties and communicating effectively with the Outside Operations team and other departments.
• Starting groups on the 1 st tee and managing pace of play as outlined by the club's expectations.
• Stay proactive in helping manage the daily experience to ensure that a world-class golf experience is had by all.
• Assist in recruiting and managing our seasonal interns.
• Assist in all club events/run mini events (Cottage Events, weekly member games). Experience with Golf Genius is a plus.
• Assist in overseeing the Training Center and other areas of the Golf Operation as needed.
• Assist Master Club Fitter and Club Repair as needed.
• Provide private instruction and assist Director of Instruction with group clinics as needed.
• Assist Merchandise Manager with the appearance of the Golf Shop, setting up displays, and inventory control and processes.
• Communicate messages and information to fellow team members.
• Report to work as assigned neatly dressed and in accordance with Club uniform, grooming and dress policies.
• Strong desire to play and maintain a competent golf game is advantageous.
• Always maintains a friendly, hospitable, and helpful attitude with all members, guests, and employees.
• Enforcement of the Club's Customs and perform all other duties as assigned.
