Description
OverviewThe Country Club of Columbus is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual for the Assistant Golf Professional position.
The Country Club of Columbus, located in Columbus, GA, has been a pillar of the community since its founding in 1909. Designed by the legendary Donald Ross, the club boasts more than 115 years of history and tradition, establishing itself as one of the Southeast's most storied private clubs. As one of the 15 founding clubs of the Georgia State Golf Association (GSGA), the club honors its rich legacy while continuing to evolve.
Today, members enjoy a wide range of amenities, including championship golf, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a fitness facility, and elegant dining options. The club also offers a variety of social events and activities, fostering a vibrant and welcoming community for members and their families.
In 1922, Fred Haskins-referred to the club by Bobby Jones-became Head Golf Professional, serving for 34 years. Haskins was instrumental in establishing the Southeastern Amateur Golf Tournament, an event the club still proudly hosts each July, drawing many of the nation's top amateur golfers.
Beyond the Southeastern Amateur, the club is home to the Haskins Foundation, which annually presents the prestigious Haskins Award to the top male collegiate golfer and the Annika Award to the top female collegiate golfer. This fall, the club will further its commitment to amateur golf by welcoming 13 women's collegiate teams for the inaugural Haskins Women's Intercollegiate.
