Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional.

Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club is an exclusive, private club located at 2900 Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, California. Established in 1962 and situated near Stanford University and Silicon Valley, it offers a "casually elegant" five-star experience. The club is recognized as a Platinum Club of America and features a recently renovated 18-hole golf course, dining, fitness, and aquatic facilities.

Originally designed by Jack Fleming (a disciple of Alister MacKenzie) in 1962, the course underwent a significant phase 1 renovation designed by Todd Eckenrode as part of a master plan. An 18-hole, par-72 course measuring 6,837 yards from the longest tees. Known for its mature oak and sycamore trees, scenic views of the Bay Area foothills, a seasonal creek, and renovated bunkers and green surrounds. Our facility includes a driving range, indoor performance center, short-game area, and putting green. The course utilizes bent grass for the fairways and greens, with rye grass greens, and features sand-capped areas for improved playability.

Experience Required

• Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience
  • 1-2 years previous experience in a private club preferred.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and Internet Applications.
• Poised, professional, proactive and positive attitude, with ability to be flexible and agile to frequently changing demands.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build relationships and rapport.
• Self-starter who is detail- and process-oriented, organized
• PGA Class "A" Member or Associate/Student in good standing.

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain an effective working relationship with the entire Golf Operation Team and Club Management.
• Knowledgeable in all facets of the club, its history, our policies, and activities.
• Help enforce all the club's rules and regulations.
• Checking in all Members and Guests. Managing the Tee Sheet.
• Assist in all areas of the golf shop and merchandise.
• Ensure a presence is always maintained in the golf shop.
• Shipping of Golf Clubs. Outgoing and Incoming. Follow up accordingly.
• Event Preparation and Execution.
• First Tee Coordination and Starter/Ranger Assistance.
• Club Repair.
• Clinics & Lessons.
• Inventory Control (Rental sets, Gloves, Balls, etc.).
• Prepare, maintain, and continue to improve the Golf Shop.
• Play Golf with the Membership and Staff.
